This family photoshoot took place in Nunney Castle in Somerset.
I had never done a photoshoot in Nunney before, in fact i’ve only really ever passed through Nunney on my way to somewhere else, but I was very pleased to be visiting Nunney and especially the castle.
The castle is really lovely.

Becky and Gary are such a sweet couple and of course they had an incredibly pretty, hand made, crafty, clever and whimsical style of wedding. Becky and all her bridesmaids got ready in her immaculate house (my house is never that tidy) and she was so chilled that even when children turned up she kept her cool.
Becky and the wedding party were transported to the wedding in a beautiful vintage bus, which really fitted her theme.
The wedding was at the local church and photographs were taken outside the church because that’s where her parents had been married 20+ years ago.
The reception was in the local village hall and they’d decorated it beautifully, I loved the table decorations of yellow buttons which matched the bridesmaids dresses, I also loved the sweetie bar and visited that area often.

I did a photoshoot down in Spargrove back in November on a lovely sunny Sunday morning with this fab family.
We’d been watching the weather and were really hoping that the rain would hold off and it did! We were so lucky because the sunshine came out and shone down on us even though it was early in the morning.
The girls were in matching outfits which I always love and in fact the whole family really blended in together, I think they might have read my What to Wear section on my FAQ page.

The Curry family got in contact to update their family photographs because the last time i did a photo shoot for them was around three years ago, it was lovely to see them all again.
The last time i did it it was a gloriously sunny day and this time bizarrely even though it had been raining quite a bit, on the morning of the shoot it was so hot it was sweltering, but we managed just fine.
(other photographers will sympathise with me on the issues that arise from bright sunshine and midday sun)
This time the Curry family had the grandparents staying so they joined in as well and they were really good sports.
I love their house, they have this amazing decking / viewing platform which looks over the valley, it’s so gorgeous, though a little hot when the sun shines down.

Dorothy House turned 40 in September last year. (https://www.dorothyhouse.org.uk)
To celebrate this event they had a thanksgiving service in Bath Abbey and I was asked to photograph this thanksgiving service.
A lady called Pru Dufour started the Hospice in 1976, and the service gave thanks to her as well as allowing the opportunity to reflect on the work of the Hospice, the patients, their families and carers that have been touched by the hospice’s care over the last 40 years.

This was a lovely wedding back in July, I’d been looking forward to it for a few months because the bride and groom are friends of mine and so i was party to all the planning that was going on around clothes and food and table decorations.
I also knew they’d be super chilled throughout the day and it was just such a lovely atmosphere to shoot in.
Ann-Marie got ready at home and i popped up to see her for about a hour beforehand, she was not only the most chilled bride ever, but she was also doing everybody else’s hair! On HER WEDDING DAY! Thankfully she didn’t have to do mine!
Matthew got ready at his parents house, and I met him and his two best men down at Abbey Manor in Yeovil after i’d finished with Ann-Marie.

We went for a walk in the woods yesterday and I took a few shots of the fallen leaves and the squishy moss and the bare trees, and when the sun came out then the sunlight coming down through the branches.
The light really was beautiful as it was cutting through the bare branches however the light didn’t seem to come out in my photographs how i quite remembered it, so i’ve enhanced it a little in photoshop to show you what i remembered it looking like.
The original sooc shot is below as well so you can see the difference.
