I do love photographing weddings, I love the fact that what I photograph is taken out of my hands and all I can do is document what unfolds in front of me. I am simply a documentary photographer, trying to ensure that I am where the action is at all times (not always possible), trying to stay near the bride and groom whilst giving them room to breathe, and trying to capture all the little moments that happen, those interactions between people as they come together to celebrate an immensely important day in two peoples lives.
I also love the fact that you never know what is going to happen next, well obviously there’s a timeline that hopefully gets stuck to, but you just never know what the children will do next, or what will be said at the speaches, or what the drunk uncle or cousin will say next.
Weddings are fun.
This wedding was simply gorgeous, everything about it was beautiful and relaxed and happy, everybody was happy, well i think everybody was happy, or they were when i turned my camera on them. (more…)

Nathan & Ruth’s pre-wedding shoot is right here – http://www.charlottephotography.co.uk/nathan-ruths-beloved-shoot/
I started my day off rather early at The Swan Hotel (www.swanhotelwells.co.uk) in Wells photographing Ruth getting ready with all her sisters and friends. Ruth’s nephews amused everyone quite a lot with their antics and then her parents arrived to help with the dresses.
The dress came from Chobham Brides and Ruth’s mum Cath added a few extra’s to the wedding dress which was stunning, Cath also made all the bridesmaid’s dresses, which were all amazing, she’s very clever.

I really like photographing musicians and this is a photo shoot I did to help promote Chris Thomas who is a musician in Devon, Chris plays at lots of weddings throughout the year so he thought he ought to make a website to back himself up, it’s a great website but i would say that cos it’s got my pictures all over it.
Here is his website (http://devon-wedding-singer.co.uk/)
or twitter (https://twitter.com/christhomas2514)
or Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/christhomas2514)
If you are interested in booking a wedding singer (he also does other non wedding gigs too) then get in contact with him.

Nathan & Ruth were getting married in August and this was their pre-wedding shoot which I like to call a beloved session.
These photographs were all taken in Wells, Somerset, some were in front of Wells Cathedral, some were in Penniless Porch, some were in the very beautiful Vicars Close and others were at The Bishops Palace gardens, which was where their wedding reception was going to be.
The weather really was glorious and we all had a lot of fun doing these.

If you are in a band or know of a band that would like some interesting, slightly different photographs taken of them then please pass on my details.
This is Chris Thomas who is a singer songwriter in Devon, these photographs were taken up on Berry head a few weeks ago.

Last week I was asked to shoot a Big Issue vendor in Wells, Somerset.
The Big Issue magazine feature a vendor/seller every week and it was very nice to be asked to shoot one for them.
You can see more vendors here – http://www.bigissue.com/our-vendors/my-pitch
It was a little bit of work trying to track this chap down, but I eventually found him and he was more than happy for me to take a few photographs of him. Stephen is a really nice man, and if you see him down Market Street in Wells then please do say hello.
I’m sure he’d love a cup of tea too.

I really love lanes, and rural roads and dry stone walls and even fields with cows in mooing at you.
It must be the 17 years I spent in London, all that concrete.
There is something about a lane that frames a photograph, it can really turn a picture into a photograph (if you know what i mean) something worthy of hanging on your wall.
Here are some photographs of lovely lanes and walls and cows down Axbridge way, oh and there is a really lovely family in there too.

I’ve been meaning to put these images on my website for ages, but I really couldn’t decide on which images to post, when you shoot a wedding you take a lot of photographs, an awful lot of photographs, and I usually like all of them, so it’s really hard to pick your favourites.
I finally choose a few to showcase here.
This wedding was a lovely wedding, it was bloomin cold and it rained and the wind came down on us but hey the bride and groom was fab, they didn’t mind at all, and as soon as the weather cleared up a bit they were brave and ventured outside to get a bit arty.
