Becky and Gary are such a sweet couple and of course they had an incredibly pretty, hand made, crafty, clever and whimsical style of wedding. Becky and all her bridesmaids got ready in her immaculate house (my house is never that tidy) and she was so chilled that even when children turned up she kept her cool.
Becky and the wedding party were transported to the wedding in a beautiful vintage bus, which really fitted her theme.
The wedding was at the local church and photographs were taken outside the church because that’s where her parents had been married 20+ years ago.
The reception was in the local village hall and they’d decorated it beautifully, I loved the table decorations of yellow buttons which matched the bridesmaids dresses, I also loved the sweetie bar and visited that area often.

I’ve photographed quite a few events at Charlton House which is based just outside Shepton Mallet, i’ve shot a few weddings and now i’ve also photographed an 80th birthday celebration.

These photographs were taken last summer, and i really miss the sun, please come back and shine on me.
I like this family, i’ve shot some of them before, I like shooting the same families again and again because it means you get to see the family grow, it means that i’m allowed to be a part of that family for a short bit of time which is lovely.
These photographs were taken on their farm in Stoney Stratton.

This was a lovely family shoot that took place in Alford/Lovington which is a teeny tiny village in Somerset, it’s so teeny and tiny i don’t even think it has a shop but it was very pretty.
This family were really lovely and lots of fun.

This shoot happened only two months ago on a sunny September day and the colours were amazing in all the foliage everywhere. Of course that doesn’t stop me from turning a goodly few of the shots into black and whites because I do love a black and white option too.
Actually the last time I saw this family, that little boy was only 18 months old and that little girl was only a twinkle in the eye and you can see those photographs right here.

I photographed this very nice family a while ago, out in Pecking Mill which is very near to Evercreech.
We shot indoors to start with because it meant we could include granddad in some of the photographs, he’s not as mobile as he used to be, and then we popped out into their garden to shoot some more natural shots of the family. (more…)

If my back garden looked like this then i’d do all my photo shoots in my back garden, but alas it doesn’t. Thankfully this lovely lady (in the middle) is an excellent gardener and her backdrop was very pretty, she’s also a very good interior designer, photographer, cook, hostess etc…… so it was a pleasure hanging out with them all for an hour.
This shot is of the whole family, the grandparents, sons, daughters in law and grandchildren. (more…)

A little while ago I was asked to shoot an extended family gathering over in Castle Cary and I was happy to oblige.
It was apparently a big anniversary for the grandparents and a few of the family members were having big birthdays too, so a double or even triple celebration. Rather unlike me I didn’t find out the details of how many years they’d been married or who’s birthdays it was, I love finding out all the details, that’s what makes these shoots so much fun, I was obviously busy concentrating at the time.
This shoot took place at about 5pm, they were all dressed up and ready to go out to dinner which was perfect timing because the lighting was lovely despite being a bit of a dull day. Everyone was in a happy mood and the children were particularly good sports bless them, they loved going into that field.
(just in case any farmers are reading this, no crops were harmed in the making of this photo shoot, they only stood in between the rows)

This family actually came to visit me at the end of 2012, you can see those photographs by clicking on this link here, on that occasion, two of the sons lived in the UK and one lived in Canada and I had to stitch some photographs together to make one big one, it was fun.
The Canadian family are currently on their holidays in the UK visiting family and even though one of the other sons is currently in Australia, they decided it was a perfect excuse for a photo shoot.
It is also three of the men folk’s birthdays around now, so another good reason to capture a moment in time.
Here are lots of lots of photographs from the shoot, can you tell it was as much fun for me as it was for them.
I absolutely love photos of children laughing, they look so cute. (more…)

This family came to visit me a little while ago for a shoot.
Now part of this family live in Canada so they didn’t visit me for a shoot and instead i was asked to merge a shot of part of this family (taken by a lady called Robin Andrew from Unposed Portrait Photography in Canada) with some shots from my shoot to create one big family portrait.
