I took a few photos in honour of DottyDay for Dorothy House who provide care & support to patients, families and carers #whenitmattersmost
DottyDay is super special because it falls on an extra day this year and we want to use it to make a huge difference and do something special to help those with life-limiting illness, their families and carers.
By wearing dots and making a text donation or doing a sponsored challenge, you can help us celebrate the 40 years of care we have given and help provide 40 years more.

These were shot last November, on an unbelievably sunny day, I could of kind of pretended that they were shot last week and you’d never have known, but hey i’m honest.
All I can say about this shoot was that it really was such fun.

I could almost eat him up, he’s really rather cute and would probably taste very nice with a smudge of butter.
In fact the whole family were very lovely, the mum colour co-ordinated everything, paper pom-poms, bunting, dresses, shirts and even the little yellow tie.
Once the little chap forgot about the hat on his head and eventually tried the butter icing (instead of the candle) then we were away, there was no stopping him.
You never know what their reaction is going to be when they are given a huge cake to eat. They can’t quite believe their luck and you often have to help them along by putting their fingers in the icing for them. Once this wee fella realised he could eat what was in front of him, he had a whale of a time tucking in.
I also especially love the fact that his big sister has her shoes on the wrong feet.

This extended family of 12 came to see me last September to celebrate a special birthday for their lovely Mum. All her children and grandchildren came together and booked a family photo shoot for everyone, but once the easy bit was done they then had to sync their diaries and work out a day for them all, two of them live in Wales!
It was a lot of fun though, the kids really enjoyed dressing up as pirates and then they had a new lease of life when we drove out to Spargrove to run around in the great outdoors.

This lovely little family came to visit me the other weekend and the girls were adorable.
They were only one and two years old, so obviously they didn’t necessarily do what i wanted them to do but hey that’s what i get for photographing children, children don’t do what you want them to do, they do what they want to do and that’s what makes it all the more fun.
I love that my old wooden children’s trolley is such a popular prop.

I actually managed to persuade my girls to let me take their portrait last week.
Iris came willingly declaring she loves having her photograph taken now, but Daisy needed slightly more persuasion. It was only when I asked her how she was going to be in the annual christmas calendar if there weren’t any photographs of her, that she changed her mind.

It was world book day today, and all the school children all over the country (perhaps the world) dressed up as their favourite character from a book. Well that’s the theory, i’m sure lots of children were persuaded into strange costumes by parents this morning. Iris wanted to go as Hermione Granger for ages and then thankfully (because frankly i wasn’t that keen on making a Hogwarts robe) she changed her mind to George Kirrin from the Famous Five, which was much easier.
