Chocolate Labrador – Studio Shoot – Evercreech

Last year I photographed my first Chocolate Labrador.
She was called Berry and was two years old at the time.
She’s very strong but liked her treats so much that we managed to get her to sit for long enough to get some shots.

My 365 project – May

Here is a selection of photos from May’s 365 project.

Looking at this month’s general theme it seems to be lots of animals and outdoors.
There’s pigs, ducks, cats (of course), a horse, a dog, and a shot of the pyramid stage whilst Glastonbury festival is being prepared.

Toby the Labradoodle

This young chap is called Toby, he’s a Labradoodle and he was rather large but oh so fluffy and cuddly.
He was rather excited during his photoshoot and I had to be really really quick to push that button and get the shot,  he sat still for literally seconds, but I managed it in the end.
Dogs are a bit like children in that their attention span is very short, but you can still make silly noises to get their attention, Toby liked me to make cat noises, I bet he dreams every night of chasing them around his garden.

RIP Tilly dog, aged 16 and a half.

We went a visiting my mum and dad this last week because it was half term.
This is something we often do, we visit my mum and dad and my two sisters Vicky & Polly and one of my sisters’ fella Chris and their little girl Gwen who just turned two.
We also always see my mum and dad’s dogs, Tilly and Barney.
Tilly was an amazing 16.5 which if you multiplied by 7 would make her a whopping (quickly gets calculator out) 115 years old in dog years, Barney is only 11.

Sadly on Thursday (our last day down there) when we woke up it was obvious that something wasn’t quite right with Tilly, she had been deaf for a good few years and she also had cataracts so could only see shapes in very good light, but having said that she still ran around and played in the mornings and ate like a trouper.

Thursday morning she mostly stayed in her box, she wasn’t interested in food and her breathing was obviously causing a lot of trouble. She couldn’t relax and she was more confused than normal, so sadly my mum phoned the VET’s to come for a home visit to check her out.
We left to drive home at this point and as we were just getting into the car, we saw the two lady VET’s arrive.
Mum told me that they had said, Tilly’s heart was failing and that she wouldn’t of lasted the night so the kindest thing to do was to put her to sleep, so that’s what happened.
My dad buried her in the garden wrapped up in her blanket under the apricot tree.
Barney apparently did give his little friend a  sniff whilst they wrapped her up, so i guess he said goodbye.

Sibling photoshoot

These siblings were really sweet when I photographed them in the summertime, the boys are very handsome and the girl is extremely pretty, and they all seem to like each other! or they did on that day.

Their grandma had arranged for me to come round and photograph them in secret as a present to her daughter, so once an afternoon had been arranged when the parents were going to be out, I zoomed round to secretly do their photo shoot.

They were all really good sports and complied with all my requests to sit down on yet more grass or wall or bench and stand next to yet another tree or vine, especially seeing as the rugby happened to be on that afternoon.
