I do love photographing weddings, I love the fact that what I photograph is taken out of my hands and all I can do is document what unfolds in front of me. I am simply a documentary photographer, trying to ensure that I am where the action is at all times (not always possible), trying to stay near the bride and groom whilst giving them room to breathe, and trying to capture all the little moments that happen, those interactions between people as they come together to celebrate an immensely important day in two peoples lives.
I also love the fact that you never know what is going to happen next, well obviously there’s a timeline that hopefully gets stuck to, but you just never know what the children will do next, or what will be said at the speaches, or what the drunk uncle or cousin will say next.
Weddings are fun.
This wedding was simply gorgeous, everything about it was beautiful and relaxed and happy, everybody was happy, well i think everybody was happy, or they were when i turned my camera on them. (more…)

I did a photoshoot down in Spargrove back in November on a lovely sunny Sunday morning with this fab family.
We’d been watching the weather and were really hoping that the rain would hold off and it did! We were so lucky because the sunshine came out and shone down on us even though it was early in the morning.
The girls were in matching outfits which I always love and in fact the whole family really blended in together, I think they might have read my What to Wear section on my FAQ page.

This was a lovely wedding back in July, I’d been looking forward to it for a few months because the bride and groom are friends of mine and so i was party to all the planning that was going on around clothes and food and table decorations.
I also knew they’d be super chilled throughout the day and it was just such a lovely atmosphere to shoot in.
Ann-Marie got ready at home and i popped up to see her for about a hour beforehand, she was not only the most chilled bride ever, but she was also doing everybody else’s hair! On HER WEDDING DAY! Thankfully she didn’t have to do mine!
Matthew got ready at his parents house, and I met him and his two best men down at Abbey Manor in Yeovil after i’d finished with Ann-Marie.

This wonderful wedding fell on a rare sunny day in March in amongst a lot of rainy days.
The bride started off her day at Charlton House (http://www.charltonhouse.com) where she got ready with her mother and two bridesmaids on a day warm enough to have the windows open. We then travelled to Christ Church in Coxley (http://www.chwchurches.co.uk) where the wedding ceremony took place, then the entire wedding party travelled back to Charlton House for a lovely reception.
The brides gorgeous dress came from Solitaire Brides in Midsomer Norton (http://www.solitairebrides.co.uk) her shoes came from John Lewis (http://www.johnlewis.com), her bridesmaids’ dresses came from Monsoon (http://uk.monsoon.co.uk/uk/wedding).
The grooms suit was a Lounge Lizard by Ted Baker from Moss Bros (https://www.mossbroshire.co.uk/), the flowers were put together by Claire Hornsby and the cakes were created by Kate McArdle (also one of the bridesmaids).

This wedding was fab, it was themed 1920’s and the brides dress was amazing, the bride and groom had put a lot of thought into the marquee and the table decoration, there was beautiful blue and white bunting hanging above and the tables looked amazing with candelabras and pearls and 1920’s table icons, it looked so pretty.

Nathan & Ruth’s pre-wedding shoot is right here – http://www.charlottephotography.co.uk/nathan-ruths-beloved-shoot/
I started my day off rather early at The Swan Hotel (www.swanhotelwells.co.uk) in Wells photographing Ruth getting ready with all her sisters and friends. Ruth’s nephews amused everyone quite a lot with their antics and then her parents arrived to help with the dresses.
The dress came from Chobham Brides and Ruth’s mum Cath added a few extra’s to the wedding dress which was stunning, Cath also made all the bridesmaid’s dresses, which were all amazing, she’s very clever.

This photo shoot was great fun, and they were all good sports laughing at my stupid jokes.
The end result was to be prints for their mum/grandma’s big birthday present, and i’m told she really liked them.
I think the photographs look especially good in black and white. (my current favourite)

Little baby Lauren came into the studio last month with her whole extended family which consisted of mum and dad and auntie and uncle and two little cousins.
Lauren was very cute, I liked her, I might have liked to keep her but I had to give her back.
