I do love photographing weddings, I love the fact that what I photograph is taken out of my hands and all I can do is document what unfolds in front of me. I am simply a documentary photographer, trying to ensure that I am where the action is at all times (not always possible), trying to stay near the bride and groom whilst giving them room to breathe, and trying to capture all the little moments that happen, those interactions between people as they come together to celebrate an immensely important day in two peoples lives.
I also love the fact that you never know what is going to happen next, well obviously there’s a timeline that hopefully gets stuck to, but you just never know what the children will do next, or what will be said at the speaches, or what the drunk uncle or cousin will say next.
Weddings are fun.
This wedding was simply gorgeous, everything about it was beautiful and relaxed and happy, everybody was happy, well i think everybody was happy, or they were when i turned my camera on them. (more…)

Look at this sweet little boy’s passport picture that i did yesterday in the studio
Did you know that babies under one do not need to have their eyes open for their passport pictures, obviously having eyes open would be better, but sometime babies just have to sleep and sleep and sleep.
I simply laid this wee boy on a soft surface on top of my white backdrop and took the shot from above, which is far easier than trying to get them to sit up with their cute little wobbly heads.
I can photograph you or your child for a UK Passport or any other type of passport or visa, please just get in contact if you want a specific type of passport or visa.

Little baby Lauren came into the studio last month with her whole extended family which consisted of mum and dad and auntie and uncle and two little cousins.
Lauren was very cute, I liked her, I might have liked to keep her but I had to give her back.

This is an official warning because this baby is extremely cute and you might suddenly want one of your own, or another one if you already have one.
I have two big girls and I most definitely wanted to keep this one, but then she didn’t cry once, slept almost all the time and was as good as gold.
I mean why wouldn’t you want this baby!
She was the perfect baby, and her brother and her parents were fabulous too.

This shoot happened only two months ago on a sunny September day and the colours were amazing in all the foliage everywhere. Of course that doesn’t stop me from turning a goodly few of the shots into black and whites because I do love a black and white option too.
Actually the last time I saw this family, that little boy was only 18 months old and that little girl was only a twinkle in the eye and you can see those photographs right here.

I photographed this very nice family a while ago, out in Pecking Mill which is very near to Evercreech.
We shot indoors to start with because it meant we could include granddad in some of the photographs, he’s not as mobile as he used to be, and then we popped out into their garden to shoot some more natural shots of the family. (more…)

If my back garden looked like this then i’d do all my photo shoots in my back garden, but alas it doesn’t. Thankfully this lovely lady (in the middle) is an excellent gardener and her backdrop was very pretty, she’s also a very good interior designer, photographer, cook, hostess etc…… so it was a pleasure hanging out with them all for an hour.
This shot is of the whole family, the grandparents, sons, daughters in law and grandchildren. (more…)

I really love lanes, and rural roads and dry stone walls and even fields with cows in mooing at you.
It must be the 17 years I spent in London, all that concrete.
There is something about a lane that frames a photograph, it can really turn a picture into a photograph (if you know what i mean) something worthy of hanging on your wall.
Here are some photographs of lovely lanes and walls and cows down Axbridge way, oh and there is a really lovely family in there too.
